Geelong Cats victory song heard on classical music radio station "Carmen Suite: Toreador SONG"

Here's something so esoteric it really doesn't deserve to be posted on social media but I'm not letting that stop me. While running errands this morning, on Kansas Public Radio I heard "Carmen Suite: Toreador Song" played on marimba. Starting at 0:58 seconds it sounded really familiar. It dawned on me this is the tune to the victory song of the Geelong Cats of the Australian Football League, "We Are Geelong". Most of the teams in the AFL that originated in the State of Victoria began in the late 1800s. Their victory songs are inspired by music of that era including classical pieces, the British music hall, and World War One fighting songs. This was the first time I've ever heard an Australian rules football victory song played on a classical music radio station!

The Morells were a great rock 'n' roll band in the 1980s and 1990s and were from Springfield, Missouri. They also performed and recorded as The Skeletons.

Honestly, if you liked the Morells in the 1980s and 1990s and loved their LP "Shake and Push" we are sure to love "You're Gonna Hurt Yourself". This 2024 compilation CD has twenty-two tracks of previously unreleased recordings made shortly after "Shake and Push" plus a few of D. Clinton Thompson's 45s from that same period. The Sound Asleep label has expressed interest in making a second pressing after the first pressing sold out in less than two months. Please do two things: (1) sign my petition to urge Sound Asleep Records to get this album back in print, AND (2) send a Facebook PM or email to Mr. Jerker Emanuelson at Sound Asleep pledging to order a copy if and when the album becomes available again. Once we get past fifty signatures on this petition it will be forwarded to Mr. Emanuelson.
